Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be exclusively partnered with SignHealth, a dedicated charity based in Balham, whose mission is to ensure that Deaf people get the same sort of access as hearing people to healthcare and health information, to recruit for a Finance Officer to join their team in the New Year. Originally established in 1986 as Anastasia trust, the charity has since expanded its reach and offer help for a much broader range of needs involving health issues and general wellbeing of Deaf people. SignHealth is at an exciting period of development and subsequently has a requirement for a Finance officer to take a lead on effective credit control.
The Key responsibilities of the Finance Officer will be to:
*Lead on effective credit control, working with colleagues across the charity to ensure timely payment.
*Chase outstanding debts, answer queries, maintain constant communication with regular debtors, provide reports to SignHealth managers and work with them to secure payments.
*Suggest improvements to the systems and ways of working to increase efficiency or provide a better service to managers and staff in SignHealth
*Liaise with SignHealth’s debtors and work with management to ensure queries are resolved in a timely manner
*Perform monthly sales ledger reconciliations and check for anomalies, work with other finance team members to reconcile their statement to the accounts
*Monitor income lines including client benefits and contributions, grant and fundraising income received and assist other members of the finance team in maintaining accurate records and providing reports to managers and the SignHealth fundraising department.
The successful candidate will ideally be a part qualified accountant with a real desire to work within the charity sector however this client is happily considering ambitious candidates holding/studying an AAT qualification who are looking to progress. A willingness to explore further qualifications is desired as the opportunity to learn sign language is readily encouraged within the organisation. Any candidates who have experience of working in a finance function within a charity are highly encouraged to apply however candidates from other backgrounds will also be considered. The candidate will have to be accurate, proactive and an excellent communicator in order to exceed in this role, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel. Due to the nature of the organisation, the successful candidate will show empathy towards the needs of SignHealth’s client group and be comfortable working in a diverse environment.
