My client is a Leeds based not-for-profit organisation who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a brilliant opportunity for someone with management and financial accounting experience who is looking to take a step up into a role with the genuine capacity to influence and interact with a senior management team.

The key duties and responsibilities of this Finance Manager role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for producing the monthly management accounts including variance analysis, writing commentaries and presenting the information to the Board.
  • Take the lead in the preparation of the statutory accounts and act as a key contact for the External Auditors at year end.
  • Play a key role in the development of the charity’s annual budget.
  • Manage key relationships with stakeholders across the charity, providing monthly finance reports, monitoring spend against budgets and offering financial advice as required.
  • Full supervision of a small finance team, including workflow management and review, providing training and support and giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
  • Produce cashflow forecasts and manage the charity’s complex balance sheet, preparing reconciliations as necessary.

Although homebased initially, applicants must live within a commutable distance from their offices in Leeds.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fully qualified as an accountancy professional.
  • Previous line management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of both management and statutory accounting.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector. However, candidates without this are still strongly urged to apply.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
