Robertson Bell is delighted to be partnering with a well-known charitable organisation to recruit a Temporary Payroll Officer on an initial three-month contract. This fully remote position is ideal for someone with strong technical payroll knowledge and a proactive, hands-on approach, ready to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately maintain and update the payroll system to ensure all staff are paid correctly and on time.
  • Administer statutory payments, pensions, and voluntary deductions in line with legislation and internal policies.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and external bodies (including HMRC) with professionalism and clarity.
  • Perform payroll checks, investigate discrepancies, and resolve overpayments or underpayments as needed.

Candidate Profile:

  • Oracle system experience is essential.
  • Strong background in payroll, with sound knowledge of income tax, national insurance, pensions, and statutory entitlements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Clear and confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively to meet strict deadlines.
