Robertson Bell are proud to be exclusively partnering with this inspiring, dynamic Christian charity in their search for a Trainee Finance Business Partner to join their team on a permanent basis. This newly created role will play a crucial role in the financial management of the charity, working across a variety of operational departments to support on everything from management accounts to budgeting and forecasting.

The key duties of this Trainee Finance Business Partner role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for managing relationships with a variety of financial and non-financial stakeholders across your directorate.
  • Host regular financial performance review meetings with your budget holders, challenging overspends and assumptions as required.
  • Produce the monthly management accounts for each of the teams under your remit.
  • Hold a key role in the annual budget setting and quarterly reforecasting processes, ensuring they are accurately communicated across the charity.
  • Play a leading role in the review of business cases for new funding, ensuring all costs have been accurately accounted for.
  • Be at the forefront of generating new ideas to improve existing processes and working efficiencies.

The Finance Business Partnering function is relatively new to the charity so this role offers a unique opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career and gradually take on more responsibilities as they progress. Furthermore, the organisation has a brilliantly flexible approach to working, with the successful candidate only being required to go into their offices a few times per month.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Achieved their Level 4 AAT or be in the early stages of their CCAB qualification.
  • The confidence to build credibility with senior level stakeholders.
  • At least two years’ experience working in a finance department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally, a background working in the charity sector, but this is by no means essential.
