Robertson Bell are working with this leading housing association whilst they recruit for a permanent Senior Accountant to join their driven and high performing finance function. Reporting into one of the organisations Heads of Finance you will lead a small team whilst being responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee the delivery of both the statutory reporting and the monthly management accounts.
  • Maintain tight budgetary control on the organisation’s joint ventures and separate entities.
  • Lead on the annual external audit acting as the main point of contact for the auditors.
  • Review VAT and corporation tax returns ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance on necessary tax planning activities.
  • Carry out reviews of finance systems and ways of working and roll out improvements and training to relevant staff.
  • Manager, mentor and develop a team of three Management Accountants.
  • When necessary, deputise for the Head of Finance and act as the go to person for any commercial related finance matters.
  • Liaise with the marketing and sales team and prepare the sales report for the group.

This permanent Senior Accountant role would suit a newly qualified Accountant who is now looking to step up in their finance career and secure a role that offers staff management responsibilities. The role would be based at the organisations head office in central London but employees are only required to travel into the office on a twice weekly basis.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Have previously led on the production of management and financial accounts.
  • Have solid knowledge producing VAT returns.
  • Be able to lead on budgeting and forecasting.
  • Class themselves as an advanced user of Excel.

Please note experience in the housing sector is highly desirable but not essential.
