My client is a North-London based charity who is looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis in this newly created role. Reporting into an experienced Finance Business Partner, this role will be responsible for assisting on all aspects of the monthly reporting cycle and long-term financial planning. This role offers fantastic training opportunities and the successful candidate will be able to take on greater responsibility as they progress.

The key duties and responsibilities of this Assistant Finance Business Partner role are as follows:

  • Play a vital role in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for your area of responsibility, with the view of eventually taking full responsibility for them.
  • Business partner with a variety of stakeholders from non-financial backgrounds across the organisation to provide financial support, investigate variances and assist in the production of reporting packs on a monthly basis.
  • Provide invaluable support in the yearly budget setting procedure for your department.
  • Take the lead on the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
  • Ensure that month end journals are posted in a timely fashion and that all costs against budget are being accurately tracked.
  • Work closely with the line manager in the development of the long-term financial plans.
  • Generate new ideas to ensure the continued development of the charity’s newly implemented finance system.
  • Provide ad hoc financial support to your budget holders on mini projects as required.

This is the perfect opportunity for a proactive, determined individual with experience in management accounts who is keen to learn the ropes, really push themselves and shape their finance career within a vibrant, collaborative environment. Although home based initially, applicants must live within a commutable distance of their offices in North London.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be part-qualified or actively studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
  • Have experience assisting on the monthly management accounts procedure.
  • Be a confident communicator, proactive and have excellent Excel skills.
  • Possess good report writing skills.
  • Have the drive and ambition to learn on the job.
