Interim Financial Accounting Manager

My client is a Manchester-based Housing Association for whom year end is currently underway, in the wider context of a transformation programme progressing at the same time. They are currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accounting Manager on a six month contract with key responsibilities including:
- Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors, producing audit schedules and answering auditor queries
- Completing challenging reconciliations
- Mapping financial information from the old chart of accounts to the new one
- Line managing a team of three accountants facing the challenge of a high pressure year end
- Preparing statutory accounts in line with Housing SORP
The team gets together twice per week in the Manchester office and works remotely the rest of the time. This post will suit a range of candidates, including those who have either qualified in practice while auditing Housing Associations; or have led on (or held substantial supporting roles) in the delivery of successful year ends in the Housing sector.
This is an initial six-month contract that has the potential to extend to12 months and beyond if desired.
To be considered as Interim Financial Accounting Manager, the essential and desirable criteria are as follows:
- Hold a full accountancy qualification
- Be expertly familiar with Housing SORP and experienced in delivering year end in the Housing sector
- Be a confident and experienced finance leader (desirable) who is able to direct workflow and distribute tasks.
