A large organisation is seeking a Temporary Service Charge Officer to support a high-performing team. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex queries efficiently. The role will be based on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the Birmingham office and two days working from home.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high volume of rent and service charge queries from tenants
- Investigating and resolving service charge discrepancies, working closely with internal teams
- Updating systems with rent and service charge changes
- Calculating and processing refunds where appropriate
- Producing clear written communications to explain charges and outcomes
The successful candidate will have:
- Essential: Proven experience working within a rent and service charge role in social housing
- Strong understanding of service charge processes and calculations
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse financial data
- Experience using housing management systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging queries professionally
- The ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
