Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys keeping purchase ledger processes running smoothly? Do you thrive in roles where communication, accuracy and problem-solving are central? Looking for a fully remote interim assignment where you can make an immediate impact?

Robertson Bell are pleased to be working with a housing association as they recruit an Interim Finance Officer for an initial three-month contract. Joining a collaborative team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring finance operations continue to run efficiently through a busy period.

This is a varied transactional finance role with a particular focus on supplier payments, invoice processing and rent-related transactions. The position would suit a proactive, detail-driven individual who enjoys taking ownership and supporting colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, managing electronic purchase orders and resolving queries promptly.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for review and approval.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and following up on unapproved invoices to keep workflows moving.
  • Posting rent receipts into the general ledger and reconciling the rent cashbook.
  • Owning the finance payables inbox and responding to internal and external queries.
  • Providing additional support to the finance team during busy periods and covering absence.
  • Contributing to small projects and process improvements as required.

Beyond the transactional elements, this role will also require strong communication and an appreciation for how finance supports wider business goals. As part of a housing association, you’ll contribute to effective service delivery and positive customer outcomes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience within social housing is essential and we cannot consider applications without this experience.
  • Have previous experience in purchase ledger, accounts payable or broader transactional finance.
  • Bring strong reconciliation skills and confidence working with high volumes of data.
  • Be proactive, organised and comfortable liaising with operational colleagues.
  • Demonstrate solid systems literacy and the ability to manage workloads independently.
  • Be available immediately or at short notice.

This is a fantastic remote opportunity for someone looking to step into a meaningful interim finance role within the housing sector, offering flexibility and the chance to add value quickly.

If you’re ready to hit the ground running and support a committed finance team for the next three months, we’d love to hear from you as soon as  possible.
