Temporary Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a charity finance team on a 3-month temporary basis. In this role, you will oversee the Senior Finance Officer and broader finance operations, ensuring month-end processes run smoothly and management accounts are delivered accurately. You will provide guidance, check reconciliations, support payroll oversight, and ensure financial controls are maintained. The role is based in Nottingham on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the Senior Finance Officer and finance team
• Checking month-end tasks and bank reconciliations
• Producing management accounts
• Ensuring accurate payroll processing and oversight
• Supporting VAT submissions and other financial compliance
• Monitoring financial controls and reporting processes
• Providing guidance on income and expenditure reporting

Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience in management accounts and month-end processes
• Experience overseeing finance teams and payroll preferred
• Charity or non-profit finance experience advantageous
• Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance software
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience valued over formal qualifications
