Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Do you enjoy taking ownership of invoice processing and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time? Looking for an immediate interim role where you can make a tangible impact from day one?

Robertson Bell are pleased to be partnering with a well-known organisation in Central London as they recruit an Interim Accounts Payable Officer to support their finance team during a particularly busy period. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys fast-paced transactional work, thrives on accuracy and loves getting invoices moving through the system smoothly.

Working within a friendly and collaborative team, you’ll take ownership of a key stage in the purchase ledger process — ensuring invoices flow through the system efficiently, queries are resolved with confidence and internal teams receive the information they need to keep operations running seamlessly.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Matching purchase orders to invoices and investigating any mismatches or missing details.
  • Managing your own batches of invoices, ensuring they are processed accurately and prepared for senior approval.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to quickly resolve issues and keep workflows moving.
  • Working closely with colleagues in different departments to clarify coding, approvals and process requirements.
  • Using finance systems to maintain accurate data and ensure a smooth end-to-end process.
  • Supporting the wider transactional finance team with varied tasks that contribute to an efficient, high-volume monthly workload.

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring at least 6–12 months of accounts payable experience, ideally in a high-volume environment.
  • Be confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Have strong attention to detail with the ability to process information quickly and accurately.
  • Pick up new systems and processes with ease (FocalPoint or Dimensions experience helpful but not essential).
  • Be organised, proactive and able to slot seamlessly into an established team.
  • Be available immediately or on very short notice.

This interim role offers a great opportunity to add value quickly within a welcoming team environment, with hybrid working requiring regular attendance in the Central London office.

If you are a capable Accounts Payable Officer ready to hit the ground running, we’d love to hear from you.
