Strategic Planning & Insights Lead
London | National Charity | £50k to £54k | Permanent
Help shape the future of a nationally recognised charity by turning strategy into action.
We're partnering with a well-known national charity to recruit a newly created Strategic Planning & Insights Lead. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to ensure ambitious strategic plans translate into meaningful organisational change, whilst designing the planning and performance frameworks that will drive decision making for years to come.
With a new long-term strategy about to launch, you'll play a pivotal role in developing how the organisation plans, measures and reports on progress. Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, you'll have the opportunity to refine and enhance them, creating meaningful reporting that gives leaders the insight they need to make informed decisions. It's a role that combines strategy, business partnering, performance management and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys influencing change across an organisation.
What you'll gain
- A genuine opportunity to shape how a national charity delivers its strategy, with the freedom to influence new processes rather than inherit rigid ones.
- Direct exposure to the Senior Leadership Team, giving you real visibility and the chance to influence organisation-wide decision making.
- A broad and varied remit spanning strategic planning, business partnering, performance management and organisational change, ensuring no two weeks look the same.
- The opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by developing planning and performance frameworks that will support the organisation's next phase of growth.
- A flexible, supportive culture that genuinely values work-life balance, with hybrid working, flexitime and the autonomy to manage your workload.
What you'll do
- Lead the organisation's planning and performance processes, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into clear, deliverable operational plans.
- Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards and reporting that provide senior leaders with actionable insight into organisational performance.
- Monitor strategic projects and change initiatives, identifying risks, trends and opportunities to keep delivery on track.
- Partner with Finance colleagues and operational leaders to align planning activity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Coach and support managers across the organisation to develop effective performance measures and build confidence in using data to drive decisions.
- Produce insightful analysis and commentary for the Senior Leadership Team and Board, enabling evidence-based decision making.
What you'll need
- Experience developing or significantly improving planning, performance or reporting processes that have influenced decision making.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and present clear, practical recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to build credibility across senior leadership teams.
- Experience in planning, performance, FP&A, business partnering, governance, strategy, operations or another analytical role with transferable experience.
- Charity sector experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
