Robertson Bell are recruiting for a Service Charge Accountant on behalf of a well-established housing organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced service charge professional to join a values-led organisation in a fully remote role, supporting the accurate budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation of service charge accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare service charge budgets, forecasts, and year-end reconciliations
• Monitor service charge income and expenditure within monthly accounts
• Lead on audit processes and support external auditors
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate audit trails
• Support with Section 20, 21, and 22 requirements
• Produce service charge reporting and analysis for stakeholders
• Respond to customer enquiries relating to service charges
• Support continuous improvement across service charge processes and controls
The Successful Candidate:
• Strong understanding of service charge legislation and regulation
• Experience preparing budgets and reconciliations within a housing environment
• Experience working with auditors and managing audit processes
• Knowledge of leasehold, shared ownership, and freehold tenures
• Minimum AAT qualified with strong Excel skills
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach
• Housing association or social housing experience would be advantageous
