Robertson Bell is partnering with a growing organisation to recruit a Senior Procurement Officer on a permanent basis.

This is a key role where you will take the lead on procurement activity, ensuring compliant processes, strong supplier performance, and value for money, while also supporting the wider finance team.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and senior stakeholders, you will play a central role in driving commercial improvements across the organisation.

The Role

You will take ownership of procurement processes while also contributing to day-to-day finance activity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading tender processes from specification through to supplier selection and contract award
  • Ensuring all procurement activity aligns with internal policies and public sector regulations
  • Maintaining a central contract register, identifying renewals and cost-saving opportunities
  • Supporting supplier management, ensuring delivery against agreed SLAs
  • Analysing spend data to identify efficiencies and inform decision-making
  • Supporting budgeting, financial planning, and audit processes
  • Assisting with management accounts and providing support to the wider finance team where required
  • Supporting financial procedures and continuous improvement initiatives

The Candidate

The successful candidate will bring a strong grounding in procurement, alongside the flexibility to support broader finance activity.

You will have:

  • Experience in procurement, contract management, or public sector finance
  • Strong knowledge of compliant tender processes and supplier evaluation
  • Experience managing contracts or maintaining procurement documentation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify savings and efficiencies
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Exposure to finance tasks such as budgeting, reporting, or supporting management accounts would be beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a broad, commercially focused role where you can take ownership of procurement while developing your wider finance skillset.
