Do you want to take ownership of audits and statutory reporting for one of most critical entities within a recognisable INGO? Would you enjoy being the go-to financial accounting specialist, trusted to deliver accuracy and drive improvements? Are you looking for a role with variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact? If yes, this could be the role for you!

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join the global finance function of a leading international NGO. The role has been upscaled following a recent year-end, giving it greater scope and impact. You will play a key part in driving improvements across statutory reporting, payroll, and management accounts for one of the organisation’s UK subsidiaries.

The key duties of this Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will be:

  • Leading the audit and preparation of statutory accounts for the designated entity, working closely with auditors
  • Producing and reviewing year-end schedules, trial balances and financial statements to review stage
  • Strengthening the internal control environment, ensuring a clean audit with minimal points raised
  • Managing and developing an Assistant Accountant, with a focus on upskilling payroll knowledge
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts packs, ensuring accuracy and consistency with forecasts
  • Overseeing payroll journals and reconciliations, ensuring costs are correctly allocated and compliant with legislation
  • Supporting tax compliance and US/UK filing requirements for the entity
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, improving accuracy and alignment across reporting cycles

You’ll be joining a large, supportive finance team that operates at the heart of a complex international group. The role offers genuine variety - balancing statutory reporting, payroll oversight, and management accounts - with the chance to own processes and make meaningful improvements. You’ll gain exposure to international payroll legislation, US filings, and FX accounting, while being well supported by senior colleagues. The organisation is also committed to flexible working, with the role offered fully remote and only occasional office visits.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Experienced in statutory accounts preparation and audits, either from practice or industry
  • Confident in managing relationships with auditors and external providers
  • Proactive, detail-focused, and able to take initiative to improve processes
  • Ideally experienced in payroll accounting (desirable but not essential)
  • An effective manager, able to guide and upskill junior team members

If you are a qualified accountant seeking a varied, rewarding role with the opportunity to influence processes and develop international expertise, we would love to hear from you.
