Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take a pivotal role in managing statutory reporting, tax compliance, and capital accounting processes. As Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

• Lead statutory accounts preparation, tax and VAT reports and month-end processes.
• Provide coaching and development to junior finance team members.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across finance processes.
• Act as a key liaison with auditors, tax advisers, and other external stakeholders.
• Contribute to financial reporting, forecasting, and decision-making for the wider organisation.
• Oversee payroll and capital accounting functions, ensuring integrity of financial records.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise from within the social housing sector.
• Have experience in statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and financial control.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and experience developing small teams.
• Be confident, proactive, and able to communicate complex financial matters to non-finance colleagues.
• Have advanced IT skills, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems.
