Senior Finance Business Partner
Salary: £52,000 - £57,000
Location: Drighlington Hybrid
We're recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a growing finance function, playing a pivotal role in driving financial performance, delivering insightful analysis and supporting key strategic initiatives across the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll manage a small team while partnering with operational leaders to provide robust financial planning, commercial insight and decision support.
The Role
This is a highly visible position where you'll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping them understand financial performance, identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
You'll lead the budgeting and forecasting process, oversee monthly management reporting and provide financial modelling and business case support for strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Finance Business Partners.
- Build strong relationships with Directors, Heads of Service and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and medium-term financial planning processes.
- Produce insightful monthly management accounts, variance analysis and financial commentary.
- Present financial performance and key insights to senior leadership and committees.
- Deliver high-quality financial modelling, scenario planning and business case analysis.
- Support strategic decision-making through robust financial challenge and commercial insight.
- Lead the annual rent and service charge budgeting process (where applicable).
- Monitor value-for-money initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and business partnering.
- Support year-end activities, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong business partnering experience and a passion for helping operational leaders make better financial decisions.
- Significant experience in management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful business insight.
Experience within housing, property, not-for-profit or another regulated environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
