Do you thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment where you can drive change and influence senior stakeholders? Want to work in a collaborative, friendly team where your input will shape financial strategy and processes? If yes, this could be the role for you!

Robertson Bell are thrilled to be supporting a large, complex organisation as they recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis. Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, this role will lead a small team, manage a significant budget of over £100 million, and provide strategic financial support to senior academic and operational leaders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, managing, and developing a team of finance professionals, ensuring delivery of high-quality reporting and analysis.
  • Deputising for the Head of Finance and representing the finance function in key leadership meetings.
  • Driving improvements across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to support operational efficiency.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, providing insightful analysis and financial advice.
  • Presenting regular financial updates and management accounts to leadership across the faculty.
  • Supporting costing and pricing for new initiatives and programmes.
  • Playing a key role in the implementation of an organisation-wide systems change programme.

This role is based in Leeds with a hybrid working pattern of three days per week in the office. The successful candidate will benefit from 34 days annual leave, generous parental leave, excellent pension contributions, and a collaborative and inclusive working culture. This is a great opportunity to join a large organisation undergoing positive transformation, with plenty of scope to make a real impact.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have significant experience in a senior finance role within a large, complex organisation.
  • Be confident producing consolidated management accounts, managing forecasting cycles, and driving budgeting processes.
  • Have demonstrable experience of business partnering and influencing non-financial stakeholders.
  • Possess strong Excel skills, including use of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs; Power BI knowledge is a bonus.
  • Be a confident, pragmatic leader with experience managing and developing others.
  • Bring a solutions-focused mindset and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
