Robertson Bell are recruiting for a Rent & Service Charge Analyst on behalf of a leading social housing organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established finance team, supporting the preparation of service charge accounts, managing sinking funds and ensuring rent and service charge information is accurate and compliant. The role would suit someone with existing service charge experience who enjoys analytical work and working with large volumes of financial data.
The Role
Reporting to the Rent & Service Charge Manager, you will:
- Prepare annual service charge accounts and support the year-end process.
- Reconcile service charge income and expenditure across a portfolio of properties.
- Support the management and reconciliation of sinking funds.
- Assist with the preparation of service charge budgets for new developments.
- Investigate variances and resolve reconciliation issues.
- Work with large datasets and spreadsheets to ensure financial accuracy.
- Build relationships with colleagues across Finance and Housing to resolve queries and support continuous improvement.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience within rent and/or service charge accounting, ideally gained in social housing.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to investigate issues, identify discrepancies and resolve problems proactively.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn within a collaborative team environment.
Experience within social housing is highly desirable, although candidates from a property management or local authority background with relevant service charge experience will also be considered.
Experience with Dynamics 365 or studying towards AAT would be beneficial but is not essential.
