This is a great opportunity for someone looking to bring structure and calm to a busy payroll environment — helping deliver a reliable, trusted service that directly supports employees across the organisation.

What you’ll gain
A permanent opportunity offering real ownership and variety in your work. You’ll report directly to the Financial Controller, gaining exposure to broader finance activities while managing payroll end-to-end. The organisation offers hybrid working, with two days a week in the office, and flexibility around how you structure your working week.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive finance team where continuous improvement, trust, and professional development are encouraged.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with HMRC and pension regulations
  • Support the preparation of payroll journals and reconciliations for finance month-end
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely updates to employee information
  • Review payroll processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to broader finance initiatives and system improvements alongside the Financial Controller

What you’ll need

  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC reporting, and pension administration
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Confident using payroll software and Excel
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication skills
  • Experience working closely with finance and HR teams
