A hands-on income management role with real scope to improve performance, develop a small team and make the role your own.
We are working with a small, values-led housing organisation that is looking for a Part Time Income Manager to lead a close-knit team and take ownership of income and arrears performance.
This is a role where getting involved really matters. You will manage the team, but you will also be expected to roll your sleeves up, support with more complex cases and do whatever is needed to get the job done. This could mean anything from working through arrears cases to picking up the phone and speaking directly with residents.
There is work to do. Arrears have increased and the organisation is looking for someone who can bring performance back to where it needs to be, clearly demonstrate what is working and identify where further improvements are needed.
We are looking for someone with strong social housing income management experience who is comfortable taking ownership and making things happen.
You will ideally have previous management experience, although the quality of your management approach is more important than the size of team you have managed. You will be firm but fair, open and honest, and genuinely focused on getting the best from your people.
Just as importantly, you will be someone who is happy to get their hands dirty. This is not a role where you simply manage from a distance – you will still need to understand the detail, deal with complex cases and support operationally when required.
You will also need to:
Qualifications are not essential. Experience, attitude and the ability to fit into the organisation are far more important.
This is a part-time role of 21 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked. A three-day working pattern would work well, although other arrangements can be considered.
Thursday is required, with Friday preferred, although this is not a deal-breaker for the right person.
The organisation operates an agile working policy, with the key requirement being that the working pattern meets the needs of the business and provides sufficient team coverage.
If you are an experienced social housing income professional who enjoys managing people but is equally happy getting involved in the detail, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a genuinely values-led organisation and make the role your own.
