Robertson Bell is delighted to be working with a growing not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant on a part-time, permanent basis (3/4 days per week). This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected organisation making a real difference through its impactful programmes and initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee all finance processes, including purchase and sales ledgers, payment runs, and month-end reporting.
  • Manage and develop a Finance Officer, ensuring they are supported to deliver high-quality work.
  • Take ownership of the organisation’s accounting system, optimising processes and adding new users.
  • Support the year-end process, working with Auditors and ensuring reconciliations and schedules are prepared accurately.
  • Lead on finance-related policies, including fraud prevention and compliance training.
  • Navigate the complexities of restricted funds across multiple programmes.

This position offers a competitive pro rata salary along with generous annual leave, a strong employer pension contribution, and enhanced family-friendly and wellbeing provisions. You will also benefit from additional perks to support your work-life balance, as well as a collaborative and supportive team culture.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally hold an accounting qualification, however candidates with sufficient experience will be considered.
  • Have experience in the charity sector and an understanding of restricted funds (or a willingness to learn quickly).
  • Be technically strong, with an excellent grasp of ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Be confident in prioritising workloads, solving problems, and working independently.
  • Have experience in complex organisations where funding structures and compliance requirements are diverse.

Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, so early application is encouraged.
