About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Partner Team and wider finance function to deliver high-quality management accounting support. You’ll play a key role in providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records, ensuring all income and liabilities are correctly recorded and reconciled
- Support the month-end close process, including:
- Preparing and posting journals (accruals and prepayments) with clear audit trails
- Reviewing general ledger postings and making necessary corrections
- Investigating and resolving variances and queries
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including detailed explanations of month-on-month and year-on-year movements
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts, analysing key drivers such as student numbers, payroll/FTE, and non-pay costs
- Assist with audits, providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries
- Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
- Build strong working relationships across the finance team and wider departments
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting processes
- Deputise for the Finance Business Partner when required
About You
- Currently studying towards, or already holding, a recognised accounting qualification
- Strong understanding of management accounting, including month-end processes, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload
- A self-starter with a proactive, positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
- Motivated to continuously develop and improve processes
