This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected not-for-profit organisation that is committed to improving lives and strengthening communities through sustainable impact. As Management Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring the organisation’s finances are well managed, reporting is insightful, and processes continue to evolve and improve. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and other senior leaders to provide clear, accurate financial information that supports strategic decisions and drives positive change across the organisation.

This is your opportunity to make a real difference, providing trusted financial support, enhancing operational effectiveness, and helping to shape how the organisation delivers on its mission.

What you’ll gain:

  • Ownership and variety: take responsibility for monthly management accounts, budgets, and financial operations across a diverse and meaningful portfolio.

  • Career development: work closely with an experienced Head of Finance who will support your professional growth and guide your progression in the not-for-profit sector.

  • A collaborative culture: join a supportive, values-driven team where people genuinely care about the work they do.

  • Flexibility and balance: based in Coventry, you’ll work on-site full-time during a six-month probation, then move to a hybrid pattern of three office days and two from home.

  • Purpose and impact: use your financial expertise to strengthen an organisation that makes a tangible difference in the community.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare accurate, insightful monthly management accounts to support strategic decision-making.

  • Assist in producing budgets and forecasts, collaborating with managers to improve financial understanding and accountability.

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including reconciliations, journals, and control accounts.

  • Support the development and enhancement of financial systems, policies, and processes to drive efficiency and compliance.

  • Play a key role in audit preparation and liaise effectively with auditors, external partners, and internal teams.

  • Provide financial guidance to non-finance colleagues, promoting transparency and sound decision-making across the organisation.

What you’ll need:

  • AAT qualification (or equivalent experience); part-qualified ACCA/CIMA welcomed.

  • Proven experience preparing management accounts, analysing variances, and supporting budgets.

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

About the organisation:
They’re a well-established not-for-profit organisation with a clear social purpose, dedicated to delivering services that create lasting impact in the community. Their culture is open, collaborative, and people-focused, with a strong emphasis on learning, support, and shared success.
