Systems Accountant

Location: North West London
Working Arrangement: Fully on-site, 5 days per week
Contract: Interim, 2–3 months
Pay: £250–£275 per day Umbrella

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Accountant to join a finance team on an interim basis for an initial period of 2–3 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who can quickly get up to speed, support the wider finance function and play a key role across budgeting, audit and management accounting activities.

The Role

Working closely with the Interim CFO and wider finance team, you will provide broad financial and accounting support during a busy period, including the audit and budget reforecasting process.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation of the budget reforecast.
• Providing assistance throughout the annual audit process.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reviewing management accounts prepared by junior members of the finance team and providing appropriate commentary.
• Providing accounting treatment advice and support for new projects and initiatives.
• Supporting payroll postings where required.
• Assisting with wider finance projects and ad hoc accounting requirements.
• Ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and appropriately supported.

About You

We are looking for a versatile and hands-on Systems Accountant who is comfortable working across a broad range of finance responsibilities and can operate effectively in a fast-paced interim environment.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Previous experience supporting audits.
• Experience of budgeting and forecasting, ideally within the education or school sector.
• Strong management accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Part-qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience..

Additional Information

• This is a fully on-site role, 5 days per week, based in North West London.
• On-site parking is available.
• An enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate. Candidates with an existing DBS issued within the last 12 months may also be considered, subject to the appropriate checks.
• The role is initially offered for 2–3 months, with the potential for the requirement to develop.
• Full-time availability is preferred.
