
We are supporting a social housing organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Service Charge Officer on a 6-month fixed term contract to support during a particularly busy period.
This role sits within a high-volume service charge function and will suit someone who is able to hit the ground running and is confident working across service charge estimates, reconciliations and resident queries.
Preparing and reconciling service charge accounts using large Excel data sets
Setting service charge estimates for existing housing stock, using contract and cost information
Investigating and responding to service charge queries via a CRM system
Supporting the delivery of year-end service charge accounts and clearing historic backlogs
Handling ad hoc service charge tasks, including confirming charges for internal stakeholders
Proven service charge experience, ideally within social housing
Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and lookups
Experience using service charge and housing finance systems (such as ActiveH, Orchard, Northgate, BlueBox or similar)
A solid understanding of service charge legislation, including lease structures and Section 20 requirements
The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Candidates with service charge experience from a commercial or managing agent background will also be considered, provided they can demonstrate strong transferable knowledge.
Hybrid working with at least one day per week in the office, with the potential to increase to two days if required
Candidates must be commutable to the office location
