Do you take pride in getting service charges right, even when systems and data make it a challenge? Are you confident handling complex mixed-tenure schemes and keeping everything compliant under the Landlord & Tenant Act? Do you thrive in a team that values accuracy, collaboration, and a shared determination to get things back on track?

A housing association in Kent is seeking an Interim Service Charge Analyst to support their busy service charge team during a period of system issues and backlog clearance. Reporting to the Head of Resident Charges, you’ll play a key role in ensuring residents receive accurate, timely accounts and estimates while helping the organisation meet statutory rent and service charge deadlines. This six-month contract starts in early November and typically requires one day per week in the Kent office, with flexibility for remote working for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing year-end service charge actuals accounts for a mixed portfolio across affordable, social rent, and leasehold tenures
  • Supporting the annual service charge estimate process, ensuring compliance with Section 20B and other legal requirements
  • Reconciling expenditure data, analysing variances, and ensuring costs are correctly allocated
  • Working with finance, housing, and property teams to resolve discrepancies and improve data quality
  • Using Excel to manipulate, reconcile, and report on service charge data (including pivot tables and lookups)
  • Supporting the implementation and stabilisation of system improvements following a recent upgrade

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid service charge experience who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and solving problems. You’ll join a supportive, down-to-earth team that’s committed to getting things right for residents, even under pressure. If you’re systems-savvy, detail-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment, this will be a rewarding challenge.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Experience working in a service charge role within housing or local government
  • Strong understanding of the Landlord & Tenant Act and related service charge regulations
  • Confident user of Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP)
  • Comfortable managing a large, mixed-tenure portfolio and multiple deadlines
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently when needed

If you’re ready to bring your service charge expertise to a team that truly values it, apply now for a confidential discussion.
