Are you a qualified accountant with strong Housing sector experience? Do you enjoy taking ownership of VAT, reconciliations and audit preparation? Are you seeking a part-time role that balances autonomy and impact?

My client, a respected Housing provider in Kent, is recruiting a Part-Time Senior Financial Accountant on a 3-6 month contract to support them during a critical phase of financial delivery. This interim post will play a key role in laying the foundations for a successful FY25/26 audit, while also overseeing the organisation’s VAT compliance and complex reconciliation activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on quarterly VAT returns and ensuring accurate submissions
  • Taking ownership of high-level balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • Reviewing financial processes and addressing historic anomalies where required
  • Supporting groundwork and preparation for the 2025/26 year-end and audit process
  • Providing senior input into financial controls and compliance activities

This is a great opportunity to step into a senior technical finance post with a clear, focused remit — where your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring confidence in reporting and audit readiness.

The role is offered on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week) and operates on a hybrid working pattern, with office attendance in Kent once per week where possible.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in Financial Accounting roles within the Social Housing sector
  • Proven ability to lead on VAT, reconciliations, financial statement and year end audit preparation
  • Available at short notice to begin a part-time interim post

Interviews will be held shortly — apply now if you're ready to bring your Housing sector expertise to a flexible, high-impact role.
