Interim Rent Accountant

Are you an experienced Rent Accountant within Social Housing? Are you confident managing rent-setting processes and working with large datasets in Excel?

We’re supporting a Housing Association in the South East to recruit an Interim Rent Accountant for a 12-month contract, providing additional capacity while a team member supports a major systems project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving the annual rent-setting and increase process
• Preparing, analysing and reconciling rent data
• Maintaining oversight of rent accounting and controls
• Supporting cashflow forecasting and Direct Debit calculations
• Providing technical support to the wider income team

The big sell is that the processes are established and working well – they need someone who understands Social Housing rents and can quickly pick up the existing process rather than reinvent it. The role is highly flexible, offering a minimum one day per week in the office.

• Rent accounting experience within Social Housing
• Knowledge of the annual rent-setting process
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
