Are you a part-qualified Management Accountant looking for an interim role with plenty of stakeholder exposure? Do you enjoy working with budget holders and helping non-finance colleagues understand their numbers? Have you gained exposure to projects, grants or donor-funded activity?

We're delighted to be supporting a well-established, internationally focused non-profit organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant. Joining a newly established FP&A function, you'll support both the organisation's core management accounts and a varied portfolio of projects.

The role is initially offered on a three-month interim contract, with a strong possibility of extension and potential longer-term opportunities. The organisation operates a flexible hybrid model, with two days per week in its Central London office. The role is inside IR35, paid via umbrella.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing management accounts across a portfolio of departments and cost centres
  • Supporting month-end, including journals, income recognition and variance analysis
  • Working directly with budget holders to review performance and understand financial results
  • Monitoring project income and expenditure against multi-year budgets
  • Supporting grant, donor and project reporting
  • Providing financial insight to project managers and other non-finance stakeholders
  • Helping improve the quality and consistency of financial reporting across the organisation.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys the people side of management accounting. You'll need the confidence to build strong relationships with budget holders, ask the right questions and constructively challenge where priorities or financial information don't quite stack up.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Part-qualified and actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous management accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including journals and income recognition
  • Confident communicating with and challenging non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience of project accounting, grant funding, donor reporting or research projects would be highly advantageous
  • Charity, not-for-profit, education or membership organisation experience would also be beneficial

If you're an ambitious Management Accountant who combines strong accounting fundamentals with excellent communication skills, we'd love to hear from you.
