Do you enjoy delivering accurate, well-controlled month-end accounts? Are you confident working autonomously and knowing your work is right before it’s reviewed? Do you thrive in a friendly, down-to-earth finance team where your contribution genuinely matters?

A small-to-medium-sized housing association in London is seeking an Interim Management Accountant for a three-month contract, starting as soon as possible. Based in an attractive, easy-to-reach office three days per week, you’ll play a key role in supporting the month-end timetable and ensuring the integrity of the organisation’s financial reporting.

You’ll be joining a supportive, hardworking finance team where accuracy, collaboration, and professionalism are valued. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, understands how their work fits into the wider picture, and brings a positive and proactive approach to a busy period.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Completing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensuring financial controls are followed and documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and supporting senior colleagues with analysis
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly, escalating issues when needed
  • Collaborating with the wider finance team to ensure deadlines are met and information flows smoothly

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structured accounting work and takes pride in delivering clean, accurate numbers. You’ll find an approachable, committed finance team and a role where your impact will be visible throughout a busy quarter.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within housing or a similar sector
  • Confident preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and ensure your own accuracy
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and month-end processes
  • Positive, friendly, and professional — someone who integrates well with a motivated team
  • Available at short notice and able to attend the London office three days per week

If you’re a diligent management accountant who wants to make a meaningful contribution over the next three months, apply today or contact me for a confidential discussion.
