HR & Operations Administrator
Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in the office
Salary: £34,000–£37,000 per annum, pro rata
Contract: Fixed-term contract, up to 6 months
Start: September 2026
Robertson Bell is recruiting for an HR & Operations Administrator to join a values-driven organisation on a fixed-term basis of up to six months.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and highly organised HR/Operations professional who enjoys being the person people can rely on. The role combines HR administration, staff support and office management, and would suit someone who is confident working independently and can take ownership without requiring close supervision.
The Role
Working as a key point of contact for staff and the wider organisation, you will provide essential day-to-day HR and operational support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing HR administration, including onboarding, offer letters and contract changes.
- Maintaining and updating HR templates, documentation and records.
- Acting as a first point of contact for staff queries and resolving or escalating issues appropriately.
- Supporting staff with practical office-related matters, including IT and workplace logistics.
- Managing office supplies and ensuring the office runs smoothly.
- Liaising with external service providers and managing day-to-day supplier relationships.
- Supporting wider HR and operational processes as required.
- Identifying potential issues proactively and ensuring they are escalated to the appropriate person.
- Providing general administrative support across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is much more than a purely administrative support function. You will be a proactive, dependable and approachable individual who naturally takes ownership and gets things done.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an HR administration, HR operations, office management or similar role.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- The confidence to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate what needs to be done rather than waiting to be asked.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly and approachable manner, with excellent listening skills.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to support wherever needed.
- The confidence to identify issues, find solutions and escalate appropriately.
Experience within a Christian faith-based environment would be welcomed, although this is a preference rather than a requirement.
Why Apply?
- £34,000–£37,000 per annum, pro rata.
- Fixed-term contract for up to 6 months.
- Hybrid working, with 2–3 days per week in the office.
- A varied role combining HR, operations and office management.
- The opportunity to make a tangible impact within a busy and values-led organisation.
- An immediate opportunity to take ownership of a newly defined role.
