Have you led finance teams supporting major development programmes? Do you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments where no two days are the same? Could you provide immediate leadership to one of the UK's highest-profile affordable housing development programmes?

We're delighted to be supporting a leading Housing Association in the recruitment of an Interim Head of Development Finance. This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation delivering a sizable development programme, with a significant number of development sites at various stages of activity and a large annual capital programme.

Joining during a period of organisational change, you'll provide experienced leadership to the Development Finance function, supporting a capable team whilst helping navigate a portfolio of high-profile and often complex schemes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership across the Development Finance team
  • Supporting financial oversight of a large and diverse development portfolio
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to support key investment decisions
  • Providing guidance on complex and challenging development schemes
  • Supporting the team's continued delivery during a period of organisational change
  • Adapting to evolving priorities and providing senior finance expertise wherever required.

This role is ideal for someone who can quickly establish credibility, work collaboratively and provide calm, experienced leadership. The successful candidate will combine strong technical capability with excellent interpersonal skills and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. Previous affordable housing experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The client is equally interested in candidates from commercial property, infrastructure, utilities or other sectors with substantial capital investment programmes.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Significant experience within Development Finance or major capital programmes
  • Experience leading or supporting finance teams in large, complex organisations
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment and hit the ground running.

The client is keen to appoint as quickly as possible and is open to discussing contract length with the right candidate. If you're looking for a high-profile interim opportunity where your experience can make an immediate impact, we'd love to hear from you.
