Robertson Bell is supporting a leading Education institution with the appointment of an Interim Head of Accounts Receivable and Credit Control to deliver improvements across all areas of Income collection.
This is a hands-on change role for an experienced interim who can quickly understand the current challenges, identify what good looks like and drive the necessary improvements through the existing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and map the existing processes across Accounts Receivable and Credit Control.
- Undertake a gap analysis and identify key weaknesses, risks and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement improved processes, controls and ways of working.
- Improve the effectiveness and timeliness of cash collection.
- Establish robust reporting and management information across the function.
- Provide leadership and direction to the existing team through a period of change.
- Build credibility quickly and ensure improvements are embedded within the team.
- Support key year-end reporting and deliverables.
- Work towards transitioning the improved function back into the permanent structure.
The Person
Essential experience includes:
- Demonstrable experience of improving Accounts Receivable/Credit Control functions
- Experience leading teams through significant change.
- Strong process improvement and change management skills.
- The ability to quickly assess a function and establish what good looks like.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the gravitas to challenge established ways of working.
- Comfortable operating in an ambiguous and evolving environment.
- A hands-on approach and the pace required to deliver tangible improvements.
Education sector experience is highly desirable, although candidates from other complex organisations with strong transferrable skills and an excellent understanding of the sector will also be considered.
