Are you an experienced Project Manager with a track record of turning new regulatory requirements into practical, workable processes? Do you excel at coordinating multiple stakeholders, maintaining momentum and ensuring complex projects remain on track? Would you like to lead the implementation of a significant new regulatory requirement in the not for profit sector?

Robertson Bell are supporting a well-established not-for-profit organisation in Kent to recruit an Interim Governance Project Manager on a nine-month, part-time contract. The successful candidate will coordinate the organisation’s implementation of new processes to support changing regulation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, updating and prioritising an existing detailed project plan, establishing the current position and identifying the critical path to implementation.
  • Coordinating an established cross-functional working group and ensuring stakeholders remain accountable for agreed actions.
  • Acting as the central liaison between the organisation’s subject-matter experts and operational teams across the business.
  • Developing and documenting clear procedures covering the identification, triage, allocation, sign-off, escalation and recording of requests.
  • Establishing a sustainable process for reviewing and updating information published under the new requirements.
  • Supporting testing, internal communications, guidance, training and the transition of the new arrangements into business as usual.
  • Producing clear progress reporting and providing assurance to senior stakeholders that the organisation is ready to meet its regulatory responsibilities.
  • Providing project-management support across other governance-led priorities where capacity allows.

This represents an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the delivery mechanics behind an important new sector-wide requirement. The organisation has already completed its initial gap analysis, established a working group and developed a detailed project plan. The successful candidate will therefore inherit a strong foundation while having genuine responsibility for turning that work into an effective and sustainable operating model.

The role is offered for three days per week on a nine-month contract. It can be performed fully remotely, though some office presence in Kent would be highly welcome.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrable project-management experience, including the ability to inherit, assess and re-prioritise an existing programme of work.
  • Experience translating a new regulatory, policy or control requirement into a practical organisational process.
  • A strong track record of coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and driving delivery across teams outside your direct reporting line.
  • The ability to produce clear procedures, workflows, controls and governance documentation.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach and the ability to work independently in a predominantly remote environment.
  • Experience within information governance, data governance, compliance, data protection, FOI or another regulated environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the client is available to interview immediately.
