Robertson Bell are supporting an organisation seeking an FP&A Lead to join on a 6-month contract during a critical period of reset and improvement within the finance function. This role has been created to re-establish robust management reporting, strengthen relationships across the organisation and reposition finance as a valued business partner rather than a back-office function.

At present, management accounts have not been produced for several months and there is a clear need for someone who can bring structure, rebuild processes and restore confidence in financial information. This is not a highly technical accounting role; instead, it will suit a commercially minded finance professional who excels at communication, expectation management and building bridges between finance and the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Re-establishing the month-end process and producing timely, accurate management accounts.
  • Designing and embedding practical reporting and planning processes where little currently exists.
  • Acting as the lead business partner across the organisation, improving engagement and responsiveness.
  • Building strong relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders, helping them understand financial performance.
  • Managing expectations, prioritising requests and addressing perceptions around finance responsiveness.
  • Laying the foundations for a future FP&A structure, with potential scope to manage or integrate existing business partnering resource.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance with insight, reporting and preparation for future organisational changes.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong experience in management accounting, FP&A or finance business partnering roles.
  • Be an excellent communicator with the confidence to engage, influence and challenge non-finance stakeholders.
  • Enjoy creating processes, bringing order to ambiguity and improving how finance operates day to day.
  • Take a pragmatic, commercial approach rather than a purely technical one.
  • Be comfortable working in a changing environment where priorities and structures are still evolving.
  • Be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience

This is a senior interim opportunity offering real influence, autonomy and the chance to reshape how finance supports the organisation. With hybrid working and a collaborative culture, it would suit someone who enjoys visible impact and relationship-driven finance leadership.

If you’re an experienced FP&A or business partnering professional available for a 6-month assignment and keen to make a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you ASAP.
