Are you an exceptional financial modeller with experience of major property or capital projects? Have you personally modelled complex transactions involving SPVs, JVs, debt or alternative investment structures? Can you turn significant financial complexity into a model that senior stakeholders can actually understand and use?

Robertson Bell are supporting a major London-based organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Modeller – Capital Projects for a four-to-six month assignment.

Working closely with senior Finance and Property stakeholders, this role will take ownership of the financial modelling for a proposed significant strategic capital project, helping the organisation evaluate several potential transaction and delivery structures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building sophisticated financial models across multiple property/capital scenarios.
  • Modelling cash flow, P&L and balance-sheet implications of potential transactions.
  • Incorporating different financing, ownership and investment structures, including SPVs and JVs.
  • Producing NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Assessing the impact of proposed projects on longer-term financial plans, KPIs and debt covenants.
  • Creating clear, intuitive models that allow senior stakeholders to flex key assumptions and understand the resulting financial impact.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced interim to work on a genuinely complex and high-profile capital project. You will be given considerable autonomy and will work alongside property specialists who can provide the underlying commercial assumptions; your expertise will be in translating these into robust financial analysis.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience personally building complex financial models within property, development, real estate, infrastructure or another capital-intensive environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex transaction structures, ideally including SPVs, JVs and debt-funded investments.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build models that are sophisticated technically but straightforward for others to use.
  • Strong understanding of investment appraisal, including NPV, IRR and sensitivity analysis.
  • The confidence and commercial awareness to operate independently with senior stakeholders.

Candidates from property, development, housing, infrastructure and other relevant commercial environments are strongly encouraged.

If you're an experienced financial modeller looking for a technically challenging interim assignment with genuine strategic importance, apply today!
