Interim Financial Assistant

A Not for Profit organisation in Hertfordshire is seeking an Interim Finance Assistant to support the team during a short-term assignment focused on rent accounting and data adjustments following a recent stock transfer. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail and the confidence to work independently once trained – though full training is on offer. You’ll be supporting the finance team with rent-related transactions and ensuring customer accounts are accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing rent adjustments, including applying credits and debits to tenant accounts.
• Supporting rent refunds for customers with credit balances.
• Assisting with rent accounting processes, including checking and updating rent data.
• Performing checks on rent accounts when properties become void.
• Updating system records based on provided templates and data sets.
• Supporting general finance administration as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure within housing finance. You’ll receive training and support but will be trusted to take ownership of your workload quickly. The role offers valuable experience in rent accounting and financial systems within a supportive team environment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with data.
• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn quickly.
• Basic finance, accounting or numerical experience (e.g. finance and accounting degree, finance admin experience, customer accounts, tenancy accounts).
• Comfortable working with systems and processing high volumes of transactions.
