Interim Finance System Implementation Lead - MS Dynamics Business Central (Outside IR35)

Robertson Bell are partnering with a unique non-profit organisation, with a strong social purpose and multi-faceted spending streams, to recruit a seasoned contractor to deliver the implementation of MS Dynamics Business Central over the next 12 months.

Due to the size of the organisation, this is a role with genuine breadth and influence; the successful contractor will operate as both a strategic lead and hands-on delivery owner, shaping the future operating model while personally driving the programme end to end. This is not a heavily layered programme — it requires a pragmatic leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making things happen.

The Role

You will take full ownership of the Business Central implementation, acting as the intelligent client between our client (in particular finance and the SLT) and the implementation partners.

Key deliverables include:

• Leading the full delivery lifecycle: discovery, requirements, solution design, build oversight, data migration, testing and go-live.
• Defining pragmatic governance, delivery cadence and controls appropriate for a smaller organisation.
• Translating organisational objectives into fit-for-purpose system and process design.
• Managing delivery partners, driving pace, quality and accountability.
• Making hands-on contributions across process design, data readiness and cutover planning.
• Leading UAT, defect resolution and business readiness.
• Driving user adoption, process improvement and automation opportunities.

You will bring:

• Proven experience leading end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations.
• Strong finance process knowledge (P2P, O2C, R2R, reporting and controls).
• Experience operating in SME, non-profit or resource-lean environments is highly preferable but not completely essential.
• Strong stakeholder management and vendor leadership capability.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to operate strategically and operationally.
