Interim Finance Operations Manager

A respected housing provider is seeking an Interim Finance Operations Manager to oversee their core transactional finance functions for a 3-6 month period — including accounts payable, receivable, VAT, and payroll. You’ll lead a team of five, ensuring all processes run smoothly, deadlines are met, and controls remain strong during a period of transition.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, VAT, and payment processing
- Leading and supporting a team of five, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and team cohesion
- Overseeing reconciliations, cash management, and the end-to-end payment cycle
- Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and audit standards
- Working closely with senior colleagues in Finance and Operations to maintain business-as-usual service levels during the interim period
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role for someone who enjoys leading people and bringing structure to busy transactional teams. You’ll find a supportive finance department with good systems and long-standing team members — the priority is simply to steady the ship and keep everything running efficiently while a permanent appointment is made.
To be considered, please meet these criteria:
- Proven experience managing finance operations or transactional finance teams (accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations)
- Strong organisational skills and a calm, methodical leadership style
- Housing or not-for-profit sector experience highly advantageous
- Confident communicator able to motivate, delegate, and deliver under pressure
