Are you a Finance Officer who can work things out rather than wait to be told? Are you comfortable dealing with messy data and still getting month-end over the line? Do you take ownership when things don’t quite add up?

An organisation based in South West London is seeking an Interim Finance Officer to support a portfolio of entities, taking responsibility for transactional finance, income processes, and supporting month-end close. This is a hands-on role where attitude and approach are just as important as technical experience. You’ll be working in an environment where processes are evolving and data isn’t always perfect — success comes from being proactive, curious and solution-focused.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end transactional finance for a portfolio of entities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and processing income.
  • Posting purchase and sales invoices, maintaining ledgers and supporting payment runs.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
  • Supporting month-end close, including closing ledgers and ensuring balances are accurate.
  • Managing ledger activity, including updating direct debits and monitoring income.
  • Responding to stakeholder queries and balancing competing priorities across multiple entities.

This is an environment where you will gain broad exposure across transactional finance and develop your ability to problem-solve in real time. There are structured processes, onboarding and support in place, but you will be trusted to take ownership, investigate issues and deliver results without constant direction. The first month will be worked from the South West London office five days per week with the promise of reducing to a hybrid pattern thereafter subject to performance.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Strong transactional finance experience, including AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience working with ledgers and supporting month-end processes.
  • Exposure to rent ledger or income processes is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect or ambiguous data and resolving issues independently.
  • Proactive mindset with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to take ownership.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands from multiple stakeholders.

Interviews will ideally be held in person as soon as the right candidates come forward – please reach out now for an informal chat on the role.
