Robertson Bell is partnering with a growing multi-academy trust in the education sector, who is seeking an Interim Finance Officer to provide critical support across their expanding central finance team.
The role is four days per week, fully remote and for an initial 2 months with the strong likelihood of being extended.
Key responsibilities:
- Payroll & pensions admin – processing new starters, overtime forms, pension queries
- Budget monitoring & reforecasting – monthly budget reviews and variance analysis
- Journal posting – coding transactions correctly within education funding rules (pupil premium, sports premium, restricted funds)
- Accounts payable oversight – aged creditors reports, invoice chasing, school compliance monitoring
- Ad-hoc support – helping school business managers and finance admins across the trust; escalating complex queries appropriately
What They're Looking For
- Schools finance experience
- Understanding of school budgets and education funding structures
- Awareness of payroll processes
