Do you enjoy taking full ownership of a finance area and seeing the bigger picture from end to end? Are you at your best when combining technical rigour with hands-on business partnering? Do you bring strong housing sector experience and want to make an immediate impact during a period of change?

A respected, medium-sized housing association in London is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to oversee the full financial management of several key Directorates. This is a 6-month contract, starting as soon as possible, with hybrid working — typically one day per week in their Central London office. You’ll act as the lead finance contact for your areas, providing robust reporting, insight, and challenge to support informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all financial management activity for assigned Directorates, including management accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Providing business partnering support to senior managers, ensuring financial information drives strategic and operational decisions
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and clarity in performance reporting
  • Overseeing financial controls and supporting the year-end process in collaboration with the central accounting team
  • Delivering financial insight to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved performance
  • Working closely with colleagues across Finance and Operations to embed a culture of accountability and efficiency

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced all-rounder who enjoys variety and autonomy. You’ll join a well-structured, supportive finance team that values collaboration and continuous improvement, while contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality housing and community services.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Fully qualified, part-qualified, or QBE accountant with strong practical experience in social housing finance, with an understanding of sector-specific reporting and regulatory context
  • Confident working across management accounts, financial accounts, and business partnering
  • Strong communicator, able to influence and challenge constructively at all levels
  • Available to start at short notice

If you’re looking for a broad, hands-on interim role where you can make a difference from day one, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
