Are you an experienced Finance Manager who is as strong with people as you are with numbers? Can you build trusted relationships with budget holders and explain financial information clearly? And do you enjoy working in a smaller organisation where you can make a visible impact?

We’re supporting a not-for-profit organisation in the North East with the recruitment of an Interim Finance Manager for an initial six-month assignment. The priority is to bring in someone who can quickly take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, support the CFO and rebuild a strong Finance presence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Working closely with budget holders to improve forecasting and control of spend
  • Leading the annual budget process
  • Reviewing reconciliations, controls and key balance sheet areas
  • Overseeing rent accounting, service charges, payroll, creditors and debtors
  • Managing and supporting two experienced transactional finance staff
  • Providing financial analysis, cashflow forecasting and wider support to senior stakeholders

The big sell is the opportunity to become the visible face of Finance in a close-knit organisation. Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills are crucial; this person needs to build credibility quickly and work confidently with operational leaders across the business.

The role is offered on a four-day or five-day working week, with flexible options around condensed hours if desired, with regular office presence requested. The role is offered on an outside IR35 contract basis.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Strong Finance leadership experience
  • Good management accounting, budgeting and financial control experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Confidence working autonomously and taking ownership
  • Not for profit experience is highly advantageous - along with experience in small organisations
  • Qualified accountancy status would be beneficial, though suitably experienced QBE or PQ applicants are encouraged

The assignment is expected to run for a minimum of six months, with potential to extend. Please apply now as interviews will be arranged at short notice.
