Interim Director of Finance (Bids and Tenders) - Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join a leading not for profit organisation on a 6-month fully remote contract. In this critical role, you will lead on new projects and development initiatives, overseeing bids and tenders while ensuring commercial viability and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage new projects and development activities, with a key focus on bids and tenders.
• Utilise your extensive commercial and financial experience to drive successful outcomes.
• Partner with senior operational, strategic, and commercial leads to build strong, collaborative relationships.
• Formulate, justify, and implement effective methodologies for bids and tenders.
• Challenge assumptions, ask insightful and commercially relevant questions to ensure success.
• Assess and manage risks within financial models, ensuring they are robust and aligned with organisational objectives.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of large contracts and their commercial realities, ensuring best practice is followed.
• Identify and delegate technical specialist roles and tasks while maintaining strong oversight and review processes.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in senior commercial and financial roles within complex organisations.
• Proven ability to lead on complex bids and tenders, with a focus on risk assessment and commercial strategy.
• Strong understanding of large contracts and their commercial dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience in partnership-building and collaborating across various functional teams.
• Ability to critically evaluate financial models, methodologies, and assumptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining strong oversight.
