Are you an experienced finance leader able to provide stability during a period of transition? Do you have a strong track record of leading audit processes and maintaining effective finance operations? Are you available to start at short notice on a part-time basis?

An organisation based in Croydon is seeking an Interim Director of Finance to join on a 3-4 month contract, starting in mid-May. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maintaining continuity, supporting the existing team and ensuring a smooth transition to a permanent appointment. The role offers hybrid working.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the completion of the year-end audit and ensuring a smooth close process
  • Overseeing day-to-day finance operations, supporting and working closely with the Finance Manager
  • Supporting the recruitment of a Finance Officer
  • Providing finance business partnering support, helping to develop financial understanding across management teams
  • Embedding governance frameworks and supporting effective financial oversight
  • Preparing a comprehensive handover to the incoming permanent Director of Finance

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience operating at Director of Finance or senior finance leadership level
  • Strong experience managing year-end and audit processes
  • The ability to maintain and stabilise finance operations within a changing environment
  • Experience in business partnering and supporting non-finance stakeholders
  • A flexible, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style

This is a critical interim assignment offering the opportunity to provide leadership and continuity during a key period, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned for its next phase.
