Interim Credit Controller

Robertson Bell is supporting a large, complex, organisation to recruit an interim Credit Controller on an initial 3–6-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with prior credit control or collections experience to join a fast-paced finance function and contribute to improving cash collection performance.

The Role

This is a hands-on, target-driven position focused on the effective management of outstanding debt and maintaining strong relationships with customers. You will be responsible for ensuring accounts are actively managed, with a proactive approach to collections and query resolution.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring regular and consistent contact to recover outstanding balances
• Delivering high volumes of outbound calls and emails, while handling inbound queries professionally
• Setting up and monitoring repayment arrangements, escalating issues where necessary
• Resolving queries and liaising with internal teams to ensure timely issue resolution
• Maintaining accurate records and producing regular updates on collection activity and performance

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be confident, organised, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment. You will be able to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in credit control, collections, or a high-volume customer-facing role
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work to targets and manage a busy workload
• Good attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records
• A proactive and resilient approach to problem-solving
