Income Officer

Robertson Bell are delighted to be partnering with a respected housing provider to recruit an Income Officer based out of East London. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the effective management and recovery of income, while also making a meaningful impact on residents’ lives.

In this Income Officer position, you will:

• Proactively manage a caseload of tenant rent accounts and housing-related debts, taking early intervention to prevent arrears.

• Prepare and issue legal notices, representing the organisation in court when necessary.

• Work closely with colleagues, local authorities, and external agencies to support residents in financial difficulty.

• Provide advice to residents on welfare benefits, payment methods, and budgeting to help sustain tenancies.

The ideal candidate will:

• Bring proven experience in income recovery and arrears collection, ideally within a housing association or local authority.

• Have strong knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits, and rent recovery procedures.

• Be confident preparing legal documentation and attending court.

• Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents from diverse backgrounds.
