Robertson Bell are pleased to be supporting an international charity to recruit a Head of Grants on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity within a developing grant management function. The successful candidate will lead a small team, helping to strengthen grant management processes, improve reporting and embed best practice across the function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a geographically dispersed grants team.
  • Embedding best practice grant management processes and controls.
  • Overseeing donor reporting, compliance and assurance activity.
  • Reviewing and improving reporting and audit/spot-checking approaches.
  • Supporting operational and systems improvements across the grants function.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong grant management experience within a complex organisation.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing team members.
  • Proven experience improving processes and embedding best practice ways of working.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

The organisation is open to candidates from a variety of sectors. While previous charity or international development experience would be highly advantageous, they are also keen to consider applicants from higher education, the NHS or other grant-funded environments.

A finance background and professional qualification would be advantageous but part qualification or a background in grant management from a programme perspective is also of interest.

This role offers flexible hybrid working, with an expectation of approximately one day per week in the London office, although there may be some flexibility around this.

The deadline is fast approaching so, please don’t hesitate to submit your application now!
