Head of Finance

North Swansea | Environmental Sector | £52,000 to £60,000 | Permanent | Hybrid Working

From Management Accounts to Head of Finance - use your skills to support an organisation delivering real climate and community impact.

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong Management Accounting or Finance Business Partner background to step into a broader finance leadership role within a pioneering climate-focused organisation.

With established income-generating assets, ambitious future plans, and a unique mix of commercial, charitable, and grant-funded activity, you’ll become a key strategic partner to senior leaders and Trustees — improving financial insight, supporting investment decisions, and helping shape the organisation’s next phase of growth.

If you’re ready to move beyond traditional reporting and want a role where your expertise, ideas, and judgement can make a visible difference, this could be the opportunity for you.

What you'll gain

  • A genuine step-up opportunity into your first Head of Finance role, with the chance to grow your strategic influence.
  • A seat at the table, partnering with senior leaders and Trustees on decisions that shape the future.
  • Exposure to renewable energy, investment projects, and a unique mix of commercial and purpose-led finance.
  • The freedom to improve, build, and shape a finance function as the organisation continues to grow.
  • The opportunity to use your skills to support meaningful climate and community impact.

What you'll do

  • Become a trusted finance partner, turning numbers into insight that helps shape key decisions.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and modelling to support future growth.
  • Strengthen systems, processes, and controls to ensure finance is fit for the next stage of the organisation’s journey.
  • Support exciting projects, investment decisions, and new opportunities through strong financial insight.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team, helping embed a culture of confident, effective finance.

What you'll need

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong Management Accounting or Finance Business Partner experience, with the ambition to take on broader leadership responsibility.
  • Experience using financial insight to influence decisions and improve organisational performance.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and explaining complex information clearly.
  • A proactive, curious approach, with the ability to challenge constructively and bring fresh thinking.

Experience within another purpose-led organisation would be advantageous, but the key requirement is strong commercial finance capability.
